Vani is a certified yoga and meditation instructor, as well as a singer-songwriter and kirtan leader. Her yoga name, “Vani”, was given to her by her meditation teacher in 2004. It's Sanskrit meaning "eloquence in speech" and is connected with primordial sound.
Vani began practicing yoga and meditation as a teen. These practices became the cornerstone of her physical and spiritual development. She took her first teacher training in 1998 at Integral Yoga Institute. The emphasis of the training was on the integration of asana (hatha yoga), pranayama, meditation and chanting.
Since her training in Integral Yoga, Vani has studied and practiced many other styles of yoga, including Vinyasa, Yin, Bikram, Chakra Yoga, Iyengar and Ancient Ayurvedic Yoga.
Her current style is a blend of hatha and vinayasa with an emphasis on breath and alignment. Her extensive experience as a meditator brings richness and inspiration to her classes. Her goal as a teacher is to guide her students in a safe practice that brings them in touch with their bodies and deeper aspects of their beings, in order to feel true peace and authenticity.
