We recommend no more than 2 whole day activities in a week, as there are plenty of wonderful opportunities close by for exploring, hiking, horseback riding and swimming.
Chirripo National Park: a UNESCO World Heritage Site
A little over an hour from here, enjoy a cooler climate at the foot of Central America's second tallest mountain, Chirripo.
Spend a day exploring the area around Chirripo, where the energy is strong and easy to feel! Hike in CloudBridge Reserve, Birdwatch, Enjoy lunch at Truchero Cocolisos a precious Tico restaurant perched on a small flower-lined river full of trout. Visit "Samaritan Xocolata" for coffee, hot chocolate, cake or a sample of Tao's amazing dark chocolate combos. Two houses away from the chocolatier is a Tico family making a lovely "Swiss cheese" for sale.
